Medicare advantage plan offerings vary depending on what service area that you reside in. Medicare advantage and prescription drug plan service areas are segregated by county, so the plan that a family member in a neighboring county has may not be available to you.

The Medicare.gov website has a plan finder that can help you review what options are available in your area. After taking a list of medications and physicians, a local, experienced independent agent can help you choose which plan is best suited for your needs.

I hear this question fairly often, but the answer can be quite different depending on an individuals need. The 'best' advantage plan is usually a very personal decision and can vary greatly depending on what type of medications you are taking, what plans your doctors accept and what plan is going to meet your current needs the best.

While the prices for Medicare Advantage plans might seem very similar, the way that the plans are constructed can be quite different. I recommend meeting with a Medicare insurance specialist who can help you decide.
