    Medicare is a taxpayer funded, government run health insurance program designed primarily for those age 65 and older. Some will qualify at a younger age if they are disabled under Social Security guidelines.

    Medicare has 2 primary lines of coverage.

    Part A is the hospital portion, Part B is outpatient care.

    Medigap (Medicare supplement) is designed to pay for things approved under Part A and B but not paid by Medicare due to deductibles and coinsurance.
