Prescription medications are not covered by Medicare parts A or B. You have to purchase a part D plan separately. Part D plans are sold by private companies, and each one has a different list of covered medications (formulary). The Medicare.gov website has a tool to help you identify the plan that provides the best coverage for your unique set of prescribed medications.
