    Medicare will pay up to 100 days of nursing home stay when the need for skilled care is ordered by a doctor, when it follows a qualifying hospital stay of at least consecutive three days, when the care in the skilled nursing facility (SNF) is for the condition for which the person was hospitalized, when the SNF is Medicare certified, and a few other conditions.
