    Medicare is not designed to cover all your medical expenses. On average, Medicare pays about 80% of inpatient and outpatient medical charges.

    Medicare Part A and B have deductibles and coinsurance that never stops. There is no upper limit to how much you can pay out of pocket during a year. Even if you have "deep pockets" it is a good idea to have a supplement plan.
