Medicare can help pay for drug abuse treatment in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Inpatient settings would be covered by Part A and outpatient settings would be covered by Part B. The services must be medically necessary and completed at a facility/with a provider that accepts Medicare.

Medicare would cover about 80% of the costs and you would be responsible for the other 20% - a medigap plan may be able to cover the other 20% for you.
