Will Medicare Pay For A Lift Recliner?

   Medicare will only pay for medically necessary durable medical equipment prescribed by a doctor.  Unless there is a very unusual circumstance, I do not see medicare approving a recliner.  In most cases I would say the answer is no to your question.  I took care of two elderly parents, both of whom need lift chairs.  Medicare would not pay for them.
