Does Renters Insurance Cover Borrowed Items?

   It would depend on the nature of the loss.  Since the item was in your care, custody and control the item would be covered the same as if you owned it.  Remember to check your deductible however.  If your deductible is $500 and the item is valued at $600 it really wouldn't make sense to turn in a claim.  All you would get is $100 anyway.
