   Renters insurance does cover personal property up to the limits specified within the policy for covered perils  only less your deductible. Your best bet for coverage for your cell phone is to speak with your cellular carrier most offer coverage that will protect you better than what is provided through your renter's insurance. Read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided or call your local agent to discuss coverage offered and exclusions on the policy.
