You renter’s policy has an entire section devoted to liability insurance.  It states that the company will pay any sum that you are legally liable for.  If someone other than a resident of the home is injured on your premises, your company will act on your behalf.  These claims can be a minor inconvenience to a major headache and are actually the best reason to have a renter’s policy.
