Does Renters Insurance Protect A Landlord?

    Renters insurance protects the landlord in the sense that it can provide extra liability protection  A renters policy is taken out by the renter to cover the renters possessions.  It does not cover the dwelling or items owned by the landlord.  If however a renter is negligent and someone is injured on the property, the renters insurance will provide protection from lawsuit.
