The rate for a renter’s policy is dependent upon the location of the unit, the year of construction, the fire protection available, and the loss history of the unit and the occupants.  As you can see these are unique for your unit.  If you know of another unit nearby that is about the same, the premium that they pay for a renter’s policy should give you an indication of what you could anticipate paying.

My experience with the renters' policy is that the average cost is around $30 / month. That estimate is based upon personal property value between $25,0000 - $30,000. When the client has more personal property to protect, it can increase to reflect the higher value. The renter's policy is a great value especially when combined with an auto policy.
