You can buy renters insurance from any carrier that is permitted to do business in your state and who writes renters insurance in your state.

The right company will depend on your circumstances.

You should seek out the assistance of an agent who is licensed to do business in your state who can show you quotes from multiple carriers so you can determine which carrier and product is best for you.

While there are several places you could go to purchase a tenants policy, I recommend that you contact a trusted insurance agent.  To find an agent get recommendations from friends, colleagues or neighbors.  An agent should listen carefully to you, provide solid financial advice and communicate clearly with you and with the insurance company.  Too often the emphasis is on the price when it is the recovery at the time of claim that makes all the difference.  Get help.

Renters insurance is carried by all good property and casualty agents. Although like any other insurance product, premiums will vary but all will be very close to one another. Also, there are different degrees of coverage but the highest coverage is not always the best. Just shop around but don't shop more than two or three carriers.
