The landlord doesn’t have any obligation regarding the personal property of a tenant.  The landlord is not responsible for anyone injured on the premises.  The tenant is responsible for bodily injury and physical damage that occurs on the rented premises.  The tenant is responsible for any property damage that might occur to the rented unit.  Regardless of the cause, the tenant is responsible for any personal property damaged at the premises.  The renter’s policy provides the protection that the tenant requires.  The tenant pays the premium.

Great question! The renters policy can be owned by one person who pays for it, or it can be owned by one person, and paid for by another. The policy will only cover those who are named on it, and the company will not care overly much where the money comes from, as long as it comes. If I can help in any way, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for asking!

A renters policy is purchased and owned by you in order to protect your personal belongings and financial exposure.  You are both the named insured and the payer for that policy.  Talk to your Insurance Professional about the options that best meet your needs and suit your budget and don't forget to ask about any available money saving discounts.
