Renters Insurance polices have a coverage called loss of use or additional living expense. How this coverage works is:  If there was a covered loss such as a fire for example that caused you to move out of your residence, because the residence became unlivable due to the loss then your renters policy under the additional living expanse coverage would pick up the Hotel for temporary housing until you were able to move back in.
