		<description><![CDATA[Life insurance policies can be participating or non-participating. Participating policies share in the divisible surplus of the insurance company and receive dividends, non-participating do not. These type of dividends are in essence a refund of premium.

One of the dividend options available is paid up additions. Paid up additions are like a fully paid up versions of the policy to which they are attached. The paid up additions, have a cash and death value and also attract dividends.
