While there is debate over which drug is better for treating age related macular degneration, Lucentis or Avastin, Lucentis was approved by the FDA and is the one Medicare reimburses. However, the cost for Avastin is so low compared to Lucentis, that it often costs the patient less to pay for Avastin treatments out of pocket, vs paying the high co-pay for Lucentis injections.]]></description>
