You can add another car to your insurance policy if you own that vehicle. Typically, if you do not own a car or truck, you can not add it to your policy.

By calling your agent, they can take the VIN number and details of that vehicle, so you can be covered as quickly as possible.

The short answer is YES. But let me offer a more detailed response. Adding a vehicle is new exposure to an insurer. So, the addition of a certain vehicle type may not be possible with an insurer. For example you are adding a Ferrari and the company does not routinely accept that vehicle...there are going to be ramifications.

The same is true of adding a car and adding a new live in partner. That may or may not be acceptable with your current insurance carrier and may depend on a number of responsibility issues the carrier wants to review.

When making changes to your policy always call your agent he or she can offer you specific and expert advice.

If you get some one  different on the phone every time  you call your agent, then perhaps you should shop for a new agent. If you are in TX, AZ, CA or GA we would be glad to assist you at the Insurance Browser Inc, , so visit our website at www.insurancebrowser.com

Absolutely! Many insurance companies provide automatic coverage on a newly acquired car, requiring that you contact them as soon as possible with all the details such as vehicle identification number and lienholder info if the car is financed/leased.  But you should first verify that policy with your insurer.  And you will want to talk about exactly what kind of coverage you want for the new car.

Most insurance companies welcome additional vehicles.  Most insurance companies offer a discount if there are more than two vehicles in the account.  The coverage under the existing policy will extend, in most cases, to a newly purchased car for up to 30 days.

That is a great question! The answer is yes - there is not an insurer alive that would not be happy to add an additional policy or vehicle to their book of business. It may even be that by adding an additional vehicle to your policy that you become eligible for discounts in your policy, as that is a common thing. I hope it is for you - thanks for asking!
