MCCA fee only applies to Michigan residents. MCCA is a catastrophic claims fund that is mandated by state law. For someone who is seriously injured, the auto insurance company is required to provide medical coverage up to $530,000. Anything over that is paid by this MCCA fund.

MCCA fees are quite expensive. As of today, it costs $186 per year, per vehicle. That rate usually increases every year, with July 1 as the effective date.
