I am not sure exactly what you mean. But if you  mean going without, then no a mortgage company would not allow that, and if you own outright it would be a foolish choice to go without.

If you mean price negotiation , then that really is not practical as the rates used are filed with the individual state Insurance Departments usually months before they are used or even years if a company is comfortable with the rates it has filed.

All that said you might want to seek out an Independent agent who has multiple companies. You won't be able to negotiate price, but you will have a chance to compare what you get in the way of coverage from several companies. For GA Homeowners, Auto , Renters or Life Insurance contact the Insurance Browser Inc 1-866-933-4372

Homeowners Insurance is filed with the individual state insurance department for rate filing. Most states that I'm aware of will not allow for negotiation of prices or "rebating" returning commission to an insured. To get the best rate I would concentrate on searching the entire market. Make sure to check different deductible levels. It is usually a very competitive market, if you do your homework you should find the best value. Always remember to check "apples" to "apples" on quotes. Try and get proposals with matching dwelling amounts and deductible limits so you know you are comparing them equally. Hope this answer helps.
