Prices (premiums) are determined by a number of factors. The senior's age, zip code, gender, plan, tobacco usage and even the carrier will impact the rate.

At age 65 many of the plans in your area may be similarly priced, especially for the popular plan F. Even still, it is not unusual to find the highest premium plan to be 2x the lowest premium, so be a wise consumer.

Some carriers are less competitive at ages 75 and up while others become more competitive. A carrier with a "strong" rate at 65 may be in the middle of the pack at ages 75 or 80.

The price for Medigap plans depends on which plan you choose and the area in which you live. They can range from $25/mo to over $400/mo. Here is a website you can go to where you can input your zip code and find the cost of Medigap policy options in your area. http://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/questions/medigap-home.aspx
