    I would recommend it as while your auto insurance may cover some of the damage to the rental car, it typically will not cover all of it. And then there is the loss of use issue for the rental company and the income lost by the rental company while the vehicle is being repaired. The insurance that the rental company offers will normally provide coverage for the things that your auto coverage would not.
    Every policy is different so please read your policy completely to know what is covered and what is excluded or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.
