PIP stands for Personal Injury Protection. PIP covers medical expenses from an auto accident. This is a no-fault coverage and will pay out regardless of fault. Not all states have PIP coverage however in some states PIP is mandatory. It is possible depending on the loss that PIP could cover lost wages and other damages. Consult your local agent about PIP coverage.

PIP refers to Personal Injury Protection.  Many states require primary medical coverage as a condition of insurance policies issued in those states.  In many cases, PIP included this primary medical benefit in addition to some limited disability.  States like Connecticut changed their laws and such coverage is now no longer mandatory.  It was replaced with voluntary Primary Medical coverage without any disability benefit included.
