    You generally need at least 2 qualified people to get group insurance. Qualified meaning employees. If you're asking because of pre-existing conditions, remember that pre-existing conditions won't matter anymore starting January 1, 2014 due to healthcare reform. The other advantage of group insurance is that you pay the premium with pre-tax dollars, but again, you must submit documentation proving employee status.
