I would work through an independent health insurance agent/broker who can review options for multiple companies and create a thorough comparison between plans.  Group insurance works a lot different than individual insurance and is constantly changing in the marketplace.

Group health insurance quotes are based on the size of your business, the industry’s SIC code, age of employees, and average employee health (for most states).  There are no instant online quotes for group health insurance for these reasons.

Some of the companies that can offer group plans include United Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente, Anthem BCBS, CareFirst BCBS, Aetna, and Coventry, to name a few.

Even if you already have a group plan, you may want to compare the options with other plans available to you in the marketplace. In many circumstances, an alternative benefit structure can provide similar benefits and save you huge dollars in premiums.

If you would like assistance with finding a group health plan for your business, send me a message and I'd be happy to go over the input and provide you with the necessary quotes and analysis to help you make the best informed decision for you and your business.

Do a quick web search for group health insurance agent or employee benefits to find a local health insurance broker.  Web sites such as NetQuote.com and BuyerZone.com can also help connect you with an insurance broker.  Generally the group health insurance companies don't engage in much direct selling, especially to the small & medium sized business marketplace and if you do try to go directly to a group health insurance carrier you must understand they can only talk to you about their products regardless of whether their products are the best fit for your particular needs.

Finding a competent, experienced and up-to-date health insurance broker is more important than ever after all the changes to the health insurance environment after the January 1st, 2014 implementation of the latest requirements of the Affordable Care Act.  The insurance carriers a layperson might assume would be the best value based upon past exposure may, in fact, be the worst value in our new environment.

You need to find an insurance professional who is more than just a shopping service.  There are new financing concepts being introduced to help employers mitigate the premium shock caused by the Affordable Care Act and, depending upon the composition and income levels of your work force, group health insurance may not necessarily even be the best solution for your employee benefits platform.
