Homeowner's policies vary a lot, so the only way to know for sure is to file a claim. Having said that it probably depends on what caused the windows to break. If it was something sudden and accidental such as a windstorm, vandalism or an accident with a baseball then you are probably covered. If the windows need to be replaced because of old age, then you probably won't be covered because of the wear and tear exclusion.

As always, it is best to talk to your Insurance Professional about the specific terms and conditions of your policy. If you are asking if a homeowners policy would pay to replace your older windows with replacement windows, unless the older windows had been severely damaged or destroyed by a covered peril, the odds are that your policy would not pay for the replacements. A Homeowners Insurance policy provides coverage to return your property to proper condition in the event that it has been damaged or lost due to some covered peril. Fire, severe wind, hurricane, lightening etc are some examples of these. Wear and tear is not.
