There isn’t an average homeowner’s rate.  Every home is unique.  I can tell you that my clients pay about $900 per year on homeowner’s insurance but I really haven’t helped you out.  Contact an insurance agent.  The agent will listen to you, provide sound financial advice and communicate clearly with you and the insurance company.  Setting proper limits is where the agent will help you the most.  At the time of claim it is not good to find out that your coverage is inadequate.
