A person is too old to get life insurance when they pass age 90. However, poor health or dementia can make someone uninsurable prior to that age. There are several No Exam policies that cover up to age 85 that are tolerant of poor health.

The best thing is to call a life insurance agency and ask. Trying to do it by email or mail is difficult with life insurance for older ages, whereas 5 minutes on the phone or in person with an agent and you can have your answer.

The mortality revolution has been moving the conventional lines of age limitations on many products, services and even retirement start dates to age 70. There are life insurance companies that issue to age 90. But a 90 year old will more than likely have health conditions to consider and you’ll need to justify the coverage and the competency of the 90 year old insured will be scrutinized by the life insurance company.
