    If you are receiving Medicare and your spouse turns 65, he/she can go on Medicare even if they have not paid Medicare taxes the required 40 quarters, due to being a stay at home worker or some other reason.

    If you have paid into Medicare but are not yet on Medicare, your spouse has not paid into Medicare, and your spouse turns 65, he/she can receive Medicare if you are age 62 or older.
