    Yes, a pneumonia shot is covered by Medicare Part B for anyone receiving Medicare. Pneumococcal shots are usually only needed once in a lifetime to prevent pneumonia. If you doctor doesn't accept assignment, you may have to pay an additional fee for the doctor's services, but not for the shot itself.
