People sometimes confuse Medicare Part A with Medicare Supplement Plan A.  "Part" A is part of original Medicare that is your hospital coverage and goes along with Part B.  Folks then get a Medicare Supplement to cover what A & B does not.  Medicare Supplement Plan A is a very basic supplement plan that covers Medicare Part A coinsurance, Medicare Part B coinsurance and Part A hospice care coinsurance.  It will also cover your first 3 pints of blood.
