    Medicare Part A is automatic once you turn age 65. Medicare Part B is also an automatic enrollment unless you opt out or choose to delay your coverage.

    Beyond that your choice is to keep traditional Medicare (Part A and Part B) and purchase a Medicare supplement plan, or enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. Advantage plans are a form of privatized Medicare that is managed by insurance carriers.
