    In some situations Medicare may cover the cost of Xgeva. The drug (under the trade name Prolia) is used and approved mostly for treatment of osteoporosis, but the cost of the drug has resulted in limited sales. 

    The medication is being rebranded as Xgeva and has receive FDA approval for prevention of bone disorders in cancer patients.
