    No. Renters insurance provides coverage for your personal property up to the policy limits for covered perils. Your security deposit is money that is provided to the landlord to help protect the landlord against any damages to the premise that were not taken care of properly by the tenant before moving out. Renters insurance has nothing to do with this.
