s not covered by renters insurance or any property insurance for that matter. A separate flood policy must be purchased to protect yourself from this peril. However if a pipe bursts in the home or water overflows from a tub or sink there  may be coverage. Talk to your local agent about specif coverage of your renters policy.

No, flooding is not covered under renters or homeowners policies. If you need or want flood coverage this is typically sold as separate policy. Most agents that sell homeowners insurance also have avenues available to purchase flood insurance. Contact your local agent to find out more about the pricing and availability of this coverage in your area.

Flood is a peril that is specifically excluded under a renters policy. Flood is generally caused by inundation of rain, tidal water or mudslide. If you had a pipe burst in your unit that would likely be covered if you had an ISO form HO-4 Renters policy. Keep in mind that there are limitations on expensive items such as jewelry, money & securities, fine arts etc.
