The typical enrollment into Medicare. During the seven month period that starts three months before the month you turn 65, includes the month you turn 65, and ends three months after the month you turn 65. If you’re disabled before age 65, you may be eligible as well.

If you are already receiving Social Security benefits you will be automatically enrolled in Medicare at age 65. If you are still working and have not yet opted to receive Social Security, and if your group health plan is not going to cover you any longer, you should apply for Medicare about 3 months before your 65th birthday.
