But your policy could be canceled short rate and you will be charged a short rate fee.  It's better to switch at renewal unless you are saving lots of money.  See if it's really worth it to switch because also if you have not had insurance for a few months and this is your first policy in a few months you could be losing your prior insurance discount for your next six months, depending on the State you live in.
