   WellPoint Health Networks, Inc. merged with Anthem where the name WellPoint, Inc. was adopted.  WellPoint is an independent company of the BCBS Association.  WellPoint is now the largest managed health care company in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield family association serving California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indian, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.  It operates under other names in the mentioned states as Blue Cross, Anthem and UniCare.
