The life insurance policy you should get is the one that has the best price and the best coverage for your unique situation. There are hundreds of life insurance companies that offer thousands of types of plans. The reason is because insurers know there are millions of different types of solutions needed to help their clients. I highly recommend finding a good independent life insurance broker with access to multiple companies to build this plan for you. Life insurance brokers are compensated by the insurer and their expertise is free to you.

Great question! The short answer is the one that fits the following criteria: Solves my need, is affordable, and covers the time frame I'll need it for. A term policy may be better for some needs than a whole life policy may be. They are typically much cheaper, but don't cover as long as a whole life policy would. I would recommend that you find an agent that will take the time to sit down with you, and walk you through the process and help you find what is right for you. If you need help, feel free to contact me, I'm happy to help you. Thanks for asking!

The first answer is, “enough.”  The second answer is, “as much permanent insurance as you can afford and still have enough coverage.”  The third answer is, “Buy from an agent that you trust.” Get recommendations from your friends, colleagues and neighbors.  Life insurance is not a mystery.  The vast percentage of young people qualifies for standard rates or better and the nuances of companies and policies pales by the last answer, “make sure it is in force when you die!”

It depends on your situation. Unfortunately your question does not contain nearly enough information to assist you.

In general, most Americans that can qualify for it, should buy term life insurance. Buy a long enough time period to stay covered until your children should be out of the house.
