I'm afraid you have confused what comprehensive insurance means. In regards to comprehensive insurance, "comprehensive" is a component of auto insurance, but not a type of insurance.

comprehensive coverage protects your vehicle from losses that occur by means other than collision. Examples include theft, vandalism, weather damage, hitting a deer, etc.

As far as borrowing someone else's vehicle, your auto insurance doesn't cover you. Their insurance does. That is, auto insurance always follows the vehicle, not the driver.
