You should be able to, but you will more than likely pay more for your coverage than a person with good credit. Many carriers will accept risks with bad credit. Each carrier sets their own standards and pricing for the risks that they are willing to accept. Start by contacting a local agent to discuss coverage availability and pricing within your area.

You certainly can. There are some companies that are more strict than others regarding credit, and may not offer auto insurance to customers with bad credit. But there are other companies who don't use credit as a rating factor at all. But these are the extremes. 92% of all auto insurance companies use credit at least to some degree. But each company weighs credit differently.

In California personal credit is not a consideration for issuing an automobile policy.  There are limited factors that can be considered; year, make and model of the car, use of the car, mileage traveled by the car, and the driving records of the members of the household where the primary insured lives.
