Probably not as an insurance company will need your drivers license number in order to issue a policy.  If you have your learners permit and are living with your parents, then more than likely their auto insurance policy will cover you while you are driving one of their cars.   Once you earn your license, you can either stay on their policy or if you decide to make that purchase and register the car in your name, then you would get your own policy.  Remember, start by talking to their Insurance Professional and asking about insuring your car with the same company.  You could be enjoying some great money saving discounts when you do.
