A van is considered a private passenger vehicle just like any auto so you can drive a van with a gross vehicle weight of under 10,000 with your auto insurance. This would include up to a 15 passenger van such as a Ford E350. Anything larger then that would be a commercial vehicle and would most likely not be covered by your personal auto insurance.
