Coverages can vary by State - but in Texas the insured party is defined as 1) Named Insured 2)Spouse and 3) residents of the household.

There is normally some coverage for permissive drivers.

There is NO coverage if the vehicle is stolen or used for some type of criminal activity.

Coverage can also be excluded on drivers - so they may or may NOT be covered.

It's best to read your policy and determine who IS and who is NOT insured!

    Hope this helps!

In California insurance follows the car.  The car is linked to a household so all the drivers in the household are either included or excluded from coverage.  Permissive drivers are covered unless specifically excluded.  It is best to consult with your agent if you have a question that goes beyond this information.
