    Fire damage to a car is covered under the comprehensive portion of the auto policy, subject to the deductible and the current value of the car. If the responsible party is known, the insurance company will endeavor to collect the dollars paid on the claim, including the deductible. If the car's owner is found to be the culprit, don't laugh, it happens, the claim will not be paid or will be recovered, and the owner will be subject to criminal prosecution for insurance fraud.
