    Insurance carriers pull what is called an Insurance Score, its a combination of factors a few of them being credit related.  This is a soft pull and credit reporting agencies maintain that this does nto affect your credit score, in fact they claim that the inquiry is only visible to you when obtaining your personal credit report.
