    It may, it is really going to depend on the formula that your carrier uses to determine your auto insurance premium. Each carrier will choose their own set of factors to use, i.e. geographic location, make and model of vehicle, age of drivers to be covered, claims history of covered drivers and driving history of covered drivers just to name a few.

    In general the color of a car does not factor into rate calculation. I often hear this myth that red cars are more expensive to insure. If thief wants to steal they might often looks for a car that is easy to steal and could care less about the car's color. If actuarial records could show that there is a higher propensity to steal certain color of cars then that might be factored into the comprehensive portion of the rates.
