It may not rise at all. This is really dependent on your insurance carrier and your past claims and motor vehicle history. If this is your first accident you may lose a claims free discount if you currently have one. If your rates do go up, you will not see the increase until your next renewal.

That really depends upon your policy and your state's regulations. Talk to your Insurance Professional about the specific terms and conditions of your policy. If you do file a claim, some companies will not rais rates for your first accident if you have either purchased that option or if you are a long time policy holder and that benefit is built in. Some if not all states will not allow a surcharge unless the loss tops $1,000. If one is imposed, then it will come on the anniversary renewal of your policy and will be included for upwards of 3 years normally.
