    In order to get auto insurance an agent would need name, date of birth, drivers license number and vehicle VIN# and garaging address. The agent would further review with you coverage's  use of vehicle, any other operators in the household, prior insurance carrier if there was one. These are the basics. I recommend consulting a local agent in your area.
