    The deductibles that are part of an auto insurance policy are typically part of the collision and the other than collision coverages. Your deductible amount is the dollar amount that you choose to be responsible for in the event of a claim for one these coverages. The insurance carrier will subtract your deductible from the amount of the claim to be paid.
